/  GROUP LESSONS

Our adult group lessons, starting from high school age, focus on strengthening communication skills through guided discussions on a variety of topics.  While there is no mandatory homework, we are always ready to provide material for extra study and review.  As with all levels in our school, independent comprehension and production is the aim of lessons.  Each lesson is 60 minutes long.

 

In Junior High School group lessons, we use different methods to improve fundamental communication skills, such as studying mini conversations from everyday situations, and devising stories to provoke creativity and establish structural knowledge.  Lessons are 60 minutes in duration.

 

Kids group lessons begin from the age at which diapers are not necessary combined with a perceived readiness to separate from parents for the duration of the lesson, generally around 4 years of age.  Flashcards are used to introduce and practice language on topics which change monthly. Lessons for Elementary School students are 50 minutes, and lessons for Pre-Schoolers are 40 minutes.

 

All group lessons are 4 times a month, once a week, at a fixed day of the week and time.  If, for some personal reason, students cannot attend their regularly scheduled lesson, they may request to take a make-up lesson within a reasonable amount of time in an already existing class, provided there is space in the class.

/  OYAKO LESSONS

Oyako lessons are specially designed for infants and toddlers who still require a guardian present.  The lesson flow consists of songs and chants linked with actions, storytime, and simple games using basic English vocabulary like colours, shapes, prepositions and verbs.  The focus is on repetition, and class times are limited to 30 minutes to preserve maximum attention, and to keep it fun!  Several lesson days are arranged each month, dependent on seasonal demand, and entry into classes are handled by reservation.  Maximum class size is usually capped at 6 student-guardian groups due to parking constraints, but if a group expresses willingness to come by pedestrian means, we occasionally allow for a bigger class.

/  PRIVATE & SEMIPRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are available for those desiring to study particular material, such as TOEIC, TOEFL, Eiken, or Business English, for those who may need to brush up on basic survival English before an overseas business trip, working holiday, or prolonged study on foreign soil, and for those who may simply lack the confidence to join a group lesson (though the ultimate goal is to be able to interact).  Private lessons are set at 60 minutes, and are arranged by booking days and times that are mututally beneficial. Semiprivate lessons are also avaliable for students who wish to come consistently as a pair.
